The Umbrella Academy season 2 finale saw another timeline messed up by the Hargreeves siblings. As a result, fans have been waiting to know what comes next ever since it arrived last July. The Umbrella Academy Season 3 Release Date
Netflix hasn’t officially renewed the series for season 3 yet, but likeliness is high especially with the show’s undeniable success. In April 2019, two months after the first season debuted, season 2 production was confirmed. The announcement came only a month ahead of its official roll.
In addition, reports also recently revealed that The Umbrella Academy season 3 will begin filming in February 2021. Hence, if we are to follow the show’s history, the streamer may officially announce season 3 production in January.
The Umbrella Academy Season 3 Plot
Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger where the Hargreeves siblings return to present day after living shortly in the 1960s. Having meddled with time once again, they were shocked to discover upon return that the Umbrella Academy no longer exists. Instead, it has been replaced by the Sparrow Academy, a new group of kids Reginald Hargreeves seemingly adopted.
Theories speculate that the Academy’s interactions with their adoptive father in the 60s led to their erasure in the present. It is possible that Reginald, who didn’t even want children, saw what a mess they had created. Hence, he decided to change plans after briefly meeting them.
Moreover, their formerly deceased sibling Ben is revealed to be alive in the alternate timeline. Fans can now look forward to his future dynamic with his original siblings.

In addition, Colm Feore also returns to reprise his role as the academy’s adoptive father, Reginald Hargreeves. There is also the newcomer Lila Pitts (Ritu Arya) who we now know is also endowed with supernatural abilities.
The Umbrella Academy Season 3 Trailer
With season 2 just launched and production still far from commencing, it may take awhile before the trailer release. In fact, we probably won’t see one until the second half of 2021 or at least while the production is underway.
