Ozark Season 4 Release Date, Cast & Plot

The crime drama Ozark is about to make its highly-anticipated season 4 return. We’ll watch the Byrde family pushed to the wall once again.

In its short run, Ozark has made itself known in the family of dark American crime dramas. The show carving out a place among household favorites like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad.

Ozark’s story is about a certain Martin “Marty” Byrde who failed to launder money discreetly. He and his family were forced out of the Chicago suburbs and to a community in Osage Beach, Missouri. Along with Marty, his wife Wendy and children have to work off their debt through a string of laundering schemes.

Making its quiet debut in 2017, Ozark gave us a glimpse of a family in crisis and how it could happen in real life. Since then, the show has been critically-acclaimed, won a series of awards and has become a Netflix hit worldwide. An Emmy for Jason Bateman, Outstanding Supporting Actress award for Julia Garner.

Last March 27, 2020, Netflix gave us Ozark’s third season which showed the Byrde’s facing their criminal rivals. On top of that, we also saw an FBI investigation along with the arrival of the Navarro Cartel leader, Omar.

Plot of Ozark Season 4

Netflix has confirmed that Ozark’s fourth season will return with 14 episodes, in which will be divided into two parts. Even before the official news of the fourth season, the creators dished in an interview that they had “always talked about it as five seasons.”

The Cast of Ozark Season 4

Last season, we lost some people. Some of the notable deaths were Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer), a representative of Navarro, Ben Davis (Tom Pelphrey), and Marty and Wendy’s therapist Sue (Marylouise Burke).

Sue was murdered by Nelson on Helen’s orders – this twist had us at the edge of our seats! It’s bittersweet to have them killed off but as they say, the show must go on!

However, we still have our main characters alive and kicking. We have Marty (Jason Bateman), Wendy (Laura Linney), Navarro (Felix Solis), Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz), Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), Ruth (Julia Garner), Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery), Wyatt (Charlie Tahan), and FBI Special Agent Maya Miller (Jessica Francis Dukes).

As for Ozark Season 4’s air dates, we cannot say as of now. They don’t seem to have a pattern we can follow. Season one aired in July 2017 and season two was dropped the following year in August. However, fans had to wait for a year and a half for season three.

We think it’s because of Jason Bateman’s hectic schedule. He appeared in HBO’s horror crime drama The Outsider where he had to play a key role in getting it aired and directed the first two episodes.

Where Can I Watch the New Episodes of Ozark When They Air?

As of now, Ozark can be watched through Netflix but hopefully, they branch out to other streaming platforms!
