The Canadian series, Northern Rescue, finished releasing its first season last year and fans are waiting for the second one. There are some series regardless of how popular they are and how much of a hit they become, their home network may still take their time in renewing them for a second season. And that is what happened with Northern Rescue!
The season premiered last March 2019 and had 10 seasons on the show’s original network which was CBC Gem. However, Netflix picked up the rights and made the series accessible internationally because CBC Gem only caters to the Canadian market.
Northern Rescue was produced by Don Carmody and David Cormican, the show stars Alec Baldwin’s brother, William. Rumor has it, the filming for season two was delayed because of the ongoing pandemic.
Plot of Northern Rescue Season 2
After the passing of his wife Sarah, John West who is played by William Baldwin moved to his small hometown along with his children. There, he takes over command of the local search and rescue organization.
With his kids in tow, John West finds it rather challenging to acclimate. New house, new environment for his kids, new job, and accepting his wife’s death – it’s really a lot for a man to take.
Sarah’s sister is made aware of the difficulty John and his kids were experiencing so she decided to step in, to help the whole family out. Partly, it was also for her to deal with the loss as well.

For the Northern Rescue Season 2, we are still expecting the main cast to make their appearance. Of course, without Sarah who is played by Michelle Nolden.
