Will Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Ever Be In ‘The Crown’?

The upcoming fourth season of The Crown will introduce one of the modern monarchy’s noteworthy figures in history – Princess Diana. This also means that the series will tackle her controversial divorce with Prince Charles, including Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles. As a result, fans are wondering whether the recent royal family’s scandal will also be played out in the series. Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit ever be in The Crown?

Series creator Peter Morgan previously said that The Crown would end after Season 5. However, he recently decided to extend the series back to its originally-planned six seasons. The final installment is reportedly focusing on the administrations of John Major and Tony Blair.

When the show was renewed further for season six, many hoped to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex together. In addition, fans even anticipated their controversial royal exit covered in the monarch drama. Unfortunately, fans of the royal series won’t be witnessing any Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama on the small screen.

Morgan revealed recently in a new interview that it’s just not going to happen. He said that the final season will cover administrations of John Major and Tony Blair, which roughly occurred around 2007. In other words, fans won’t get to see Meghan and Harry’s relationship, considering they didn’t even meet until 2016. More surprisingly, the show’s creator is quite “happy” to not be touching on the topic.

“The Meghan and Harry story is nowhere near over yet,” he explained. “And I’m happy that I’m never going to write it.”

While it is disappointing, viewers can still look forward to other modern royals, specifically, Princess Diana in the upcoming seasons. Season 4 will cover the late ’70s and early ’80s, including Margaret Thatcher’s reign as a Prime Minister. The formidable character will be played by seasoned actress, Gillian Anderson.

The Crown will be available for streaming on Netflix on November 15. A trailer for the upcoming season has already been released along with the show’s character posters. By the looks of the short teaser, fans can still expect plenty of drama in store.
