The Crown Season 4: New Character Posters Revealed

After the recent release of its official trailer, makers of The Crown unveils new character posters for the series. In its official Twitter account, images featuring the lead cast of season 4 were posted along with one-liner captions. Each poster seemingly gives an overview on the “challenge” the character will face or battle out. Here’s a look at the new season’s character posters for the series.

Olivia Coleman

Olivia Coleman stars as Queen Elizabeth II, the head of the British monarchy. In the poster, Coleman can be seen tensely staring in the opposite direction of the camera. She is also sporting a crown and teardrop pearl earrings. Her caption also reads, “Adversity will challenge stability,” hinting on the potential dispute her leadership may encounter.

Gillian Anderson

Gillian Anderson will portray the character of Margaret Thatcher, Britain’s first female Prime Minister. In the poster, the actress is profiled sideward with her expression suggesting being intrigued and inquisitive. She is wearing a blue attire along with pearl studded earrings. Her poster caption reads, “Power will challenge authority” serving us a clue on her huge role in the monarchy.

Emma Corrin

Emma Corrin takes the role of the late princess Diana, the first wife of Prince Charles, heir to the throne. In the poster, Corrin can be seen giving a side glance as her eyes convey uncertainty and uneasiness. She is sporting a wavy hairdo and minimal jewellery. Her one-liner reads, “Rejection will challenge resolve,” which paints a definitive cause to her character’s ultimate decision.

Josh O’Connor

Josh O’Connor will be reprising his role as Prince Charles in the show’s fourth season. The poster depicts the actor sitting in the backseat of a car and is giving an intense look. He can be seen sporting a black attire and a royal gold ring. His caption reads, “Desire will challenge duty,” suggesting a conflict between his wants and responsibility.

Tobias Menzies

Tobias Menzies returns to the series as Prince Phillip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II. The poster  paints the actor in an apparent scheming look as he faces the camera directly. He is sporting a black tuxedo and a well kept brushed-up hair. The poster caption reads, “Grief will challenge strength” offering a relief on their family’s trials. 

Helena Bonham Carter

Helena Bonham Carter plays the role of Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II. In the poster, she can be seen giving a side profile pose while looking all gloomy and dejected. Her poster caption says, “Heartache will challenge happiness” briefly summarizing how her tragic fate brought her to her current state.

The Crown chronicles the decade-long reign of Queen Elizabeth II and the adversities she faced throughout her leadership. Its season 4 is due to premiere on November 15 on Netflix. Watch the trailer below.
