New teaser photos for the upcoming fourth season of The Crown were recently released online, sending royal family fans abuzz.
In one of Netflix’s recent uploads, actress Emma Corrin exudes elegance of the late Princess Diana in a purple strapless gown, matching scarf, and fluffy blonde bob. Appearing beside her is co-star Josh O’Connor, who plays Prince Charles. The two, walking past cameras, are seemingly arriving at a red-carpet event.
The latest photos also featured a glimpse on Sex Education favorite Gillian Anderson, Britain’s first ever female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher.
Netflix shared a whole gallery of the show’s first look of the fourth installment through the Netflix Queue Instagram. It included a few more shots of Diana wearing a pastel-yellow skirt suit and chatting with Camilla Parker Bowles (Emerald Fennell). As the upcoming season follows Charles and Diana’s love story unfold, we’ll likely see more of the trio and their interrelated relationships.
In addition, other new photos showed Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Colman), Prince Philip (Tobias Menzies), Princess Margaret (Helena Bonham Carter), and Princess Anne (Erin Doherty).
The photos came a month after Netflix released the first teaser trailer of the new season. It is due to premiere on November 15. The trailer didn’t reveal Corrin’s face back then, but donned her in a stunning replica of Diana’s wedding dress.
Corrin recently spoke about the reaction on the set when she first walked out wearing the iconic wedding dress. “I had a team of about 10 people helping me put it on, because it’s massive,” Corrin said. “I walked out and everyone went completely silent. More than anything else I wear in the series, it’s so… it’s her.”
