The Nominees are in for the 2022 Grammy Awards

The full list of nominees for the 64th annual Grammy Awards was announced Tuesday, featuring popular artists like Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and more. Among these artists leads Jon Batiste with 11 nominations, including two in the “big four” categories of Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist.

Batiste tweeted that he was born on 11/11 and that the number has always been recurring in his life, making 11 nods extra special to him. “It’s not only my lucky number, it’s literally representative of so much — and to get 11 [nominations] feels predestined.”

The Recording Academy announced the nominations for each of the 86 categories on a livestream Tuesday. Other artists that fall under the most nominated include Doja Cat, H.E.R and Justin Bieber with 8 nominations, as well as Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo with 7 nominations.

Reactions to the nominations seem mixed according to the Twitterverse. “Justin does not deserve 8 nominations. His career would be long gone and buried if it wasn’t for the big features,” one user wrote, as another said, “Wow, Jon! 11 nominations for Grammy. You deserve every one of them for your brilliant musicianship.”

The 2022 Grammy Awards will air Mon, Jan. 31 on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ from 8–11:30 p.m. ET / 5–8:30 p.m. PT. A full list of nominees can be found here.
