Brace Yourselves: “Magic Mike 3” is Coming

Channing Tatum is returning as Mike Lane in “Magic Mike’s Last Dance”, the third and final installment of the male stripper saga. The hotly awaited film will debut exclusively on HBO Max and will once again be directed by Steven Soderbergh and written by Reid Carolin.

Tatum recently took to the Twitterverse to make the announcement with a photo of the front of the script, captioning the post, “Well world, looks like Mike Lane’s tapping back in.”

“There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of ‘Magic Mike’ with Steven, Greg, Reid, and the amazing people at HBO Max. The stripperverse will never be the same,” said Tatum in a statement.

The franchise, consisting of “Magic Mike” and “Magic Mike XXL”, was a global success, as the films earned over $100 million each in box office sales. The original cast of the 2012 movie featured many muscular co-stars besides Tatum, including Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey.

According to Toby Emmerich, the chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, the third installment will bring back everything we’ve come to know and love about the film.

“Is there anybody on screen more charismatic and appealing than Magic Mike?” said Emmerich. “We’re thrilled to be back in business with Channing, Steven and their creative team to bring back Magic Mike’s wonderful combination of dance, drama, romance and humor.”

Fans of the franchise seem to be over the moon about the announcement, according to the overwhelmingly-positive response on Twitter.
