Netflix’s “Don’t Look Up” Has Some Serious Star Power in its Cast

Netflix’s upcoming film, “Don’t Look Up” features a star-studded cast consisting of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Timothee Chalamet, Jonah Hill, Meryl Streep, Kid Cudi, Ariana Grande, Cate Blanchett, and more. There’s a group of A-list celebrities you thought you’d never see together.

The trailer for the film was released on Netflix’s YouTube today, featuring the following synopsis in the description:

“DON’T LOOK UP tells the story of two low-level astronomers who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth. Written and Directed by Adam McKay.”

The trailer reveals that the movie is “based on real events that haven’t happened – yet”. While the movie’s plot definitely sounds intriguing, viewers seem to be more excited about the cast more than anything.

In the comments of the film’s trailer, one user wrote, “THE CAST LINE UP I CAN’T BREATHE,” as another said, “We’re just not ready at all for this whole cast in the same movie.”

According to a “Deadline” interview with the film’s director, Adam McKay, it wasn’t as difficult to get so many big movie stars involved as you’d expect.

“We got great reads on the script from a lot of actors who said they’d been waiting for a project like this, with how crazy the world has been. They were excited to collaborate on something that tries to process the insanity of our modern world,” McKay said. “They were excited it was a comedy, after how much we’ve all been pummeled year after year, to be able to laugh a little bit about this craziness, to try and find that distance to laugh.”

“Don’t Look Up” will hit the big screen exclusively on Dec. 10, and the film will stream on Netflix starting Dec. 24 on Netflix. Watch the trailer for the highly-anticipated movie below.
