Elon Musk and Grimes are now “semi-separated” after three years of dating. The entrepreneur and business mogul, Elon Musk, told The New York Post’s “Page Six” that while the two are separated, they still love each other.
“It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room,” said Musk.
Musk and Grimes are said to still be on good terms, as they see each other frequently to take care of their 16-month-old son, X Æ A-Xii. According to Musk, Grimes has been the more active parent out of the two.
“Grimes has a much bigger role than me right now,” he continued, adding, “When the kid gets older, there will be more of a role for me,” Musk told The New York Times.
Elon Musk and Grimes started their relationship in May 2018, surprising the world with an appearance together on the red carpet. Two years later in January 2020, Grimes announced her pregnancy.
The world seems to have a unanimous reaction to the breakup, as it seemed like the perfect time to do what the internet does best: make memes.

There’s no telling whether or not the pair will get back together in the future, but the two seem to be doing well in their “semi-separated” situation.
