First Look Revealed for HBO’S “The Last of Us” TV Series

Since its release in 2013, “The Last of Us”, a critically acclaimed video game, has developed a devoted fan base. With two games released and one rumored to be in the making, this survival saga has proven to be a hit within the gaming community.

The action-adventure game managed to grab HBO’s attention, causing it to be picked up by the network for a TV adaptation. While a release date and specific details of the plot are unknown, the show is promised to cover the events of the original game.

According to the show’s IMDB page, the show is described as follows:

“Joel and Ellie, a pair connected through the harshness of the world they live in, are forced to endure brutal circumstances and ruthless killers on a trek across post-pandemic America.”

The show will feature popular names like Pedro Pascal from “The Mandalorian” as Joel, and Bella Ramsey from “Game of Thrones” as Ellie. Thanks to Neil Druckmann, the director of “The Last of Us” video game series, fans got a sneak peek at what the show will look like.

The tweet received mixed reactions, as some seemed to be disappointed in the real-life appearance of the main characters, Joel and Ellie.

“This shot of that girl/woman looks nothing like Ellie from that angle,” one user wrote while another commented, “Don’t know why some people won’t give it a chance. It’s an opportunity to relive the experience in a new way.”

The show will be directed by Druckmann and Craig Mazin, who created “Chernobyl”, alongside three others. “The Last of Us” is set to release exclusively on HBO in 2022.
