Little Mix Shares First Snap Together Sans Jesy Nelson

Little Mix has shared its first group photo as a trio, following former bandmate Jesy Nelson’s exit this month. The British girl group was formed in 2011 during the 8th series of The X Factor UK which they won. They later signed with Simon Cowell’s record label and released a cover of Damien Rice’s Cannonball, which topped the UK Singles Chart.

In an Instagram post, the now three-girl group consisting of just Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock sent their Christmas message to fans. They wrote, “Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Mixers. We hope you have the most magical day.”

The holiday greeting was accompanied by a photo of the three members sharing a warm hug in cozy sweaters.

“We have achieved things I never thought were possible. From winning our first Brit Award to our sold-out shows at the O2. Making friends and fans all over the world, I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. You have always been there to support and encourage me, and I will never forget it.”

The pop singer went on to reveal the reason behind her departure. “The truth is recently being in the band has taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard,” she confessed.

“There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process. So after much consideration and with a heavy heart, I’m announcing I’m leaving Little Mix.”

In the end, she thanked the fans who supported their music and extended comforting messages upon hearing the news. “I want you to know I love you all so much and I could never have done this without you and I appreciate it endlessly,” she added.

Lastly, she also thanked her co-members Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne for “creating some of the most amazing memories I’ll never forget.” She hopes for them to continue fulfilling their dreams through creating music that people love.
