BTS Makes Another Historic Feat As ‘Life Goes On’ Tops Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart

BTS creates history yet again as their latest single Life Goes On enters Billboard’s Hot 100 chart at number 1. Billboard has just announced that Life Goes On takes the top spot on the chart for this week. The Hot 100 ranks the most popular songs in the United States across all genres based on streaming (official audio and video), radio airplay, and sales data.

The song is now BTS’s third topper on the chart following Dynamite and Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat) remix collaboration with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo. These tracks all topped the chart only in the span of 3 months.

As a result, BTS has now become the fastest act to accumulate three Hot 100 number 1s in over 42 years since the Bee Gees. The latter did so in 2 months and 3 weeks with songs from their Saturday Night Fever soundtrack back in December 1977.

Moreover, BTS is also the fastest act since The Beatles to land their first three number 1s. The English rock band scored three Hot 100 top songs in 2 months and 3 days back in 1964.

BTS’ Life Goes On Lists Another Historic Feat for the band

In the chart’s 62-year history, Life Goes On is the first track sung predominantly in Korean that has made the top. It is also the first non-English language song to ace the summit, while BTS is the first group in the chart’s history to have 2 songs debut at the top.

According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, Life Goes On garnered a total of 14.9 million U.S. streams and 150,000 sales in the week ending November 26. It also tallied 410,000 radio airplay audience impressions in the week ending November 29.

Life Goes On also tops the Digital Song Sales chart and takes number 14 on the Streaming Songs chart. Meanwhile, their first all-English hit Dynamite rises on the third spot of this week’s Hot 100, after scoring number 14 last week.

On top of these all, BTS’s new album “BE” has also taken the first spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
