Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Jaz Sinclair puts forward her old character’s reinstatement in the series’ part 4. Sinclair has played Roz Walker, Sabrina’s best friend and a powerful seer since part 1. Roz was introduced in the series as an outspoken feminist and a force to be reckoned with. However, part 3 showed less of these traits as her character focused more on cheerleading and her relationship with Harvey. As a result, fans felt they missed the Roz they knew at the beginning of the show.
In an interview with CBR, Sinclair clarified that she felt the same way after Chilling Adventures of Sabrina part 3. In fact, it led her to talk with showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa about her character’s status.
She shared, “I had a really good conversation with Roberto right before Part 4 — maybe at the end of Part 3, I don’t remember — where I was just like ‘I want these parts of Roz back.’ I really liked the feminist; I like this and I really want this mixed relationship to have justice…”
Sinclair’s request was granted as Aguirre-Sacasa took her suggestion to improve her character Roz in the final outing. “[He] totally took everything that I said to heart and that’s why Roz gets so much cool stuff in Part 4 because he was so receptive to that conversation and really did everything in his power to give me a lot of juicy, fun, deep, lovely stuff. So I’m super grateful to him for hearing me,” she remarked.
With part 4 as Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s last, it is only fitting that Sinclair reinstates her old character. This will remind audiences why they loved her character in the first place and send her off on a high note.
What will Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4 be all about?
Netflix has already revealed the part 4’s trailer opening with Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) celebrating her birthday. Shortly after, the eldritch terrors are seen evidently attacking Greendale. Described by Ambrose as ancient entities, their reign of terror will then culminate with the arrival of The Void. Sabrina then has no choice but to deal with these newly-released sinister terrors.
The Void, as mentioned repeatedly in the trailer, is not only capable of wiping the town from existence but also the entire world. As such, Sabrina will have to unite with friends and the forces of hell to stop it by all means. That includes seeking help from her doppelganger Sabrina, the Herald of Hell.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4 will be released on December 31, 2020. It stars Kiernan Shipka, Mirando Otto, Lucy Davis, Chance Perdomo, Ross Lynch, Gavin Leatherwood, Jaz Sinclair, Lachlan Watson, Tati Gabrielle, Richard Coyle, and Michelle Gomez.
