Is Dads bad enough to watch?

I don’t have much interest in Dads, the new Fox comedy produced by Seth MacFarlane. The show, which debuted last night, has been universally acknowledged as terrible. In general, I prefer to stay away from terrible things.

But every now and then something comes along that is considered so bad, so blindingly overwhelmingly awful, that it piques one’s interest. The word on Dads is that it is racist, mysoginist, and just plain unfunny. But really, how bad can it be?

So bad, that it’s mere existence depresses Alyssa Rosenberg. So bad that Kevin Fallon has to ask if it’s the worst comedy you’ve ever seen. So bad that the Atlantic Wire can only describe it as “a crappy show crappily made.” This could go on. And on.

Could something so boring and so lazy and so offensive be bad enough that you just have to watch it? At least once? If nothing else, this poster seems to suggest it’s possible.
