“Squid Game” Creator Confirms Season 2

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, chances are you’ve heard about or seen Netflix’s hit show, “Squid Game”. The show became almost overwhelmingly popular once it was released to the streaming platform, leaving fans hungry to see more. They’re in luck, because the show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, just confirmed a second season.

In an appearance at a Los Angeles event honoring the show’s first series, the show’s creator made the hotly anticipated announcement that he’s in the planning process for the second installment of the series.

“There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice!,” Hwang Dong-hyuk shared. “But I will say there will indeed be a second season. It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently. But I do think it’s too early to say when and how that’s going to happen.”

Naturally, the news spread like wildfire, filling the Twitterverse with memes.

As of now, we don’t know any details about the second season’s plot or release date, but we do know that Seong Gi-hun, the protagonist played by Lee Jung-jae, will make a return. “I will promise you this, Gi-hun will come back,” Hwang told the Associated Press. “He will do something for the world.”
