The fourth and final season of “On My Block” has arrived on Netflix today, allowing fans to binge-watch all 10 episodes on the streaming giant. The fourth installment of the popular show features returning stars like Jason Genao as Ruby, Brett Gary as Jamal, Sierra Capri as Monse, Diego Tinoco as Ceasar, and more.
The show seems to be one of the better original shows on Netflix so far, according to its large fanbase, causing many fans to wonder why the show is being cut short. According to an announcement made by Netflix, the show’s spin-off, “Freeridge” will follow new cast members and new adventures.
On My Block's final season premieres in one week and while that means we'll be saying goodbye to Monse, Ruby, Jamal, Cesar, and Jasmine 😭 we won’t be leaving this incredible universe just yet.— Netflix (@netflix) September 27, 2021
Thrilled to announce the stories will continue in Freeridge, an On My Block spinoff!
As of right now, there isn’t an official reason as to why the show is being cancelled by Netflix. Back in January 2021, “The Hollywood Reporter” speculated that the main cast members were consistently renegotiating raises, which were set to rise even more for a possible fifth season.
An official release date for “Freeridge”, the show’s spin-off series, hasn’t been announced, but it’s said that filming for the show is set to commence later in the Fall. As for now, fans can find all four seasons of “On My Block” on Netflix.
