Olivia Rodrigo Dominates 2021 American Music Awards Nominations

The 2021 American Music Awards nominations were announced this morning and Olivia Rodrigo has topped them all. The singer-songwriter is up for seven awards including Artist of the Year, Favorite Trending Song, New Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Female Pop Artist and Favorite Pop Album.

If Rodrigo, 18, wins at least five categories, she’ll have made history by breaking the record for the most wings by a first-time nominee. Other mentionable nominees up for five awards include The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Doja Cat and Giveon.

For the first time in AMA history, fans can vote for their favorite stars through TikTok by searching for AMAs within the app. Votes are limited once per category per day all the way up to Nov. 16, just days before the award show’s premiere on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Three new categories have been added to the AMAs this year, including Favorite Trending Song, Favorite Gospel Artist and Favorite Latin Duo or Group. These new additions have replaced three of last year’s categories: Favorite Social Artist, Favorite Artist – Adult Contemporary and Favorite Soundtrack.

The American Music Awards will air on ABC and can be streamed on Hulu the following day. The iconic award show will take place from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and tickets are available for purchase on AXS.com.
