Gossip Girl reboot series shares new snaps of their cast dressed up, along with a short description about their characters. Confirmed last July 2019, the HBO max revival show takes place eight years after the events of the original series. It will follow a new group of Manhattan private students, depicting the ways in which online life has influenced them.
In its official Instagram account, Gossip Girl reboot revealed the new photos featuring the 9 new faces of the series. They focus on Emily Alyn Lind, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Zión Moreno, Savannah Smith, Jordan Alexander, Evan Mock, Tavi Gevinson, and Whitney Peak. The images reveal the characters’ name and their defining traits respectively.
The contrasting traits of the characters offer hints about the possible conflicts that may come. Firstly, it can easily be deduced that Otto’s privileges will clash with Zoya’s more perspective approach.
Secondly, Kate’s ambition can also potentially collide with the powerful Monet de Haan. Should the rivalry push through, it would be reminiscent of Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and Blair’s (Leighton Meester) feud in the original series. The two characters started out as friends initially, who would become enemies later as they vied for the same goals.
Rumored main protagonist of the revival show, Audrey Hope, was vaguely described as graceful. Whether it runs parallel to the story arc of Blake Lively’s Serena or not still remains to be seen. However, Serena in the original series took her time discovering who she really was beyond what people expected of her. It is possible that Audrey will follow a similar journey.

Set to debut later in 2021, the reboot will be executive-produced by Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Joshua Safran. They’ll be back to work behind the scenes as well as Kristen Bell, who will once again narrate the series. The reboot takes place in the same universe as the original, which might suggest plenty of references and potential cameos.
While little has been confirmed about its plot, Gossip Girl reboot looks already promising with its attempt to be more socially conscious.
