Premiere of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 13 Becomes Franchise’s Most-Watched Episode

We’re guessing that the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” team’s new year’s resolution is to slay harder and that, they did.

Last December 31, the Emmy Award-winning reality show shook the ratings records with its Season 13 premiere with 1.3 million total viewers. It was a “Ru Year” celebration filled with gag-worthy happenings, boiling tea, and tongue-popping comebacks.

The premiere of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 13 on VH1 raked in a 0.4 P18-49/LSD rating which is a whole percent higher than last season’s premiere.

For the very first time in more than the show’s decade on the small screen, VH1 also aired the episode on different channels such as The CW Network, MTV, MTV2, PopTV, and Logo. All the channels combined, the RPDR episode delivered a 0l74 P18-49 rating and raked in 1.3 million viewers.

Being that this is the show’s 13th season, it’s only fitting that they welcome 13 queens to compete for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar”:

Spoiler alert: the queens met in pairs which hinted a twist coming on. They were then summoned to the main stage to defend their place in the competition by lip-syncing for their lives.

While this twist already got us shocked and gagging, this season’s guest line-up just made all viewers want to do a deathdrop. We have Cynthia Erivo, Nicole Byer, Loni Love, TS Madison and Jamal Sims to join our panel of judges.

Also, rumor has it that Drag Race Superfans Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson will be surprising the queens with video masterclasses. To top all of that, Miss Congeniality winners from past seasons Nina West, Valentina, and Heidi N Closet will also be making their guest appearances.
