Stranger Things Season 4 – David Harbour’s Most Favorite Yet

Stranger Things season 4 is star David Harbour’s current favorite among all the series’ installments. Harbour plays police chief Jim Hopper on the show, who was initially presumed dead following the explosion in season 3. However, the series finally revealed in a teaser last Valentine’s that Hopper was alive, but held as prisoner in Russia. With this shocking announcement and the core group ending separate ways in season 3, fans eagerly await for the follow-up.

In a recent interview with People, Harbour teased fans about what they can expect from the upcoming season 4. He said that the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, are well-aware of the fans’ needs and wants. Thus, they draw back a little to accommodate them, while still adding their own ideas and twists into the mix.

“[The show’s creators, The Duffer Brothers are] very responsive to the fan response, [but also] a step ahead with the script. [You will] see a lot of your favorite characters doing the thing that you love them for … but you’ll also see them twist it and turn it into other colors and other flavors,” Harbour said.

The actor went on to talk about his character, saying that the new season shows Hopper in a different light, making this his favorite season yet.

“One of the great things that you can see with Hopper is that he was a protector, he’s a man of justice [and] he now has become a prisoner. He’s trapped and he’s isolated. And we get to see an entirely other color of him that has been hinted at. This season is my favorite because he really is going to show you some new colors and what he’s really made up of,” he added.

What can we look forward to in Stranger Things season 4?

Stranger Things season 4 has suffered delays because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Production initially commenced in February only to halt shortly in March 2020. Filming resumed last October, but a release date for the fourth season is yet to be confirmed. Luckily, the series creators have steadily teased new developments, including some episode title reveals and new confirmed castings. More recently, some of our favorite cast members participated in an online D&D game streaming which includes Harbour himself.

Fans can’t wait to see what will happen to Hopper and how he will escape Russian imprisonment once the latest season is released. Moreover, with Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) leaving Hawkins, season 4 gears up to expand more than it’s ever done. How the Duffer brothers will tie all of these threads together will surely be the highlight of this upcoming instalment.

While Stranger Things has gone bigger and bolder with each season, the fourth season will have to meet new expectations. It may take awhile after several encounters with delays, but we hope the long wait will be worth it.
