Stranger Things Cast Plays D&D In A Newly Released Teaser Video

Stranger Things cast members gather to play Dungeons & Dragons in a fun new teaser video. Since the series’ release in 2016, D&D has gained more popularity than ever. All thanks to the show’s efforts to pay tribute to the game. It took inspiration to name its major villains like The Demogorgon and The Mindflayer from it. The show’s core group of friends have also played the game on-screen in multiple episodes. However, have the stars themselves ever sat down together to actually roll the dice?

Netflix has just announced that the Stranger Things cast teams up to play Dungeons & Dragons. It wrote on Twitter, “The cast of Stranger Things played a DnD one shot and you get to watch the whole thing in 3 days,” along with a sneak peek of the recorded event.

David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), and Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler) join Wizard of the Coast’s Principal Story Designer Chris Perkins in a game to save Christmas. The adventure takes our heroes to the frozen north of Icewind Dale, setting of the recently released Rime of the Frostmaiden. Of course, we can’t wait for some role-playing, shenanigans, and maybe a monster or two.

Titled Lost Odyssey: Toy Time for Ten-Towns, the video will premiere on Stranger Things’ YouTube account this Friday, December 18.

The Netflix series has heavily featured the popular tabletop role-playing game in all of its three seasons so far. Therefore, it is only but fitting that the cast plays the game which they helped propel to greater heights in its entire history.

Stranger Things Season 4 Latest Updates

Unfortunately, Stranger Things season 4 suffered quite a setback from the threats of the coronavirus pandemic. Production originally commenced earlier this year for a scheduled 2021 release date, but filming shortly halted after lockdown announcement. However, several months after its delay, shooting finally resumed in October, bringing a slew of set photos and teases with it.

Although season 4’s plot remains mostly wrapped in mystery, the core cast will return for the new outing, including David Harbour’s Hopper. He was assumed dead at the end of the season 3 following the explosion of the gate to the Upside Down. However, in a teaser revealed by the show last Valentine’s Day, he was revealed alive and imprisoned in Russia.

Had the year gone as planned, Netflix might be gearing up for a Stranger Things season 4 premiere by now. At the very least, this D&D game is a nice holiday gift for fans who have been waiting for new episodes. While the game will only include a few cast members, it is surely still bound to be an entertaining video.
