A few days ago, NBC’s Saturday Night Live aired its Christmas-themed episode.
The hilariously merry episode was hosted by Kristen Wiig with musical guest, Dua Lipa and it drew 1.3 Live+ Same Day rating in adults aged 18 to 49 and 6.3 million viewers overall, which is just a bit off from last week’s episode.
Despite the difference in the numbers, one would still consider December 19’s SNL episode a success.
Last week’s episode was hosting Timothée Chalamet with musical guest Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band raked in a 1.3 accompanied with 6.7 million viewers. However, the Wiig-Lipa episode was an improvement compared to the December 5 telecast with Jason Bateman as the host and Morgan Wallen as the musical guest (1.2, 6.2 million viewers).
Saturday Night Live’s most recent episode is the last of three consecutive originals and the show’s last episode for 2020, was a few digits behind FOX’s “The Masked Singer.” Putting NBC’s SNL as the #2 entertainment program of the week in 18 to 49 among the broadcast networks.
