Producers such as Jay Kogen (who is part of “School of Rock,” “The Simpsons,” and “Frasier”) and Ali Schouten (who is part of “Diary of a Future President,” “Champions,” “Merry Happy Whatever” have signed to develop the remake.

The original “iCarly” show was produced by Nickelodeon and ran from 2007 to 2012. It starred Cosgrove, Trainor, Kress, and Jennette McCurdy.

The story was about a group of best friends trying to make their webcast famous while coping with everyday situations and going through puberty. It’s quite timely, given that a lot of people are giving vlogging a try.

Through its funny and relevant episodes, “iCarly” has become a pop-culture staple and has made immense impact on viewership records.
