Cobra Kai Season 3 Promo Photos Give First Glimpse At What’s To Come

Cobra Kai gears up for its upcoming third season with a release of new promo photos giving fans a glimpse at what’s to come. Netflix produces season 3 for the first time since acquiring the show from YouTube. Its subsequent premium subscription platform called YouTube Red, first produced and hosted seasons 1 and 2 before transferring to Netflix. The series then became a big hit since moving to the streaming giant, resulting in a fourth season order.

The martial arts comedy-drama follows Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) from the original Karate Kid movie, 34 years after. In this redemption story, Johnny deals with his past mistakes while training a new generation of Cobra Kai karate students. Along the way, he clashes with his old rival Daniel and former master John Kreese (Martin Kove). While Johnny and Daniel remain rivals in many ways, the show presents their struggles with the past often in a paralleled fashion.

Set to premiere early next year, season 3 reveals teaser photos at some of its upcoming scenes courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. One of them showed Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) recovering in the hospital after sustaining injuries from season 2’s school brawl. Meanwhile, Robby (Tanner Buchanan) is seemingly serving time in a youth correctional facility as a consequence from what he has done to Miguel.

As what the official synopsis suggests, Daniel will be searching for answers from his past as he tries to comprehend everything that’s happened. Johnny, on the other hand, seeks redemption.

Elsewhere, Kreese continues to manipulate his vulnerable students with his own violent vision for Cobra Kai. The image also foreshadows the continued three-way conflict between Johnny, Daniel, and Kreese.

What else could we expect for Cobra Kai Season 3?

The series latest outing will also see the return of Ali Mills (Elisabeth Shue), Johnny’s ex-girlfriend from the original film. She leaves him for Daniel, further causing conflict between the two. At the end of season 2, Mills sends Johnny a friend request on Facebook although he doesn’t seem to notice it at the time. Shue’s return as Mills would bring another core character back from the first movie. Fans can expect an interesting factor playing to Johnny’s ongoing journey toward redemption.

However season 3’s story and secrets unfold, more tensions will continue to arise between Daniel, Johnny, and Kreese – who seeks full control of the Cobra Kai dojo. Whether the two younger masters join forces to defeat the old brutal one happens or not remains to be seen. We shall also look forward to how Ali’s return could potentially reconcile Johnny and Daniel’s past. All these and plenty of fights to anticipate when Cobra Kai returns to Netflix on January 8, 2021.
