We are well-aware of how much fans Marvel franchises have especially when they do cross-overs and The Punisher isn’t a stranger in appearing in some.
With admiration coming from critics and audience alike, most of fans like us applaud the show for having back to back seasons. However, we want to know when Season 3 will be released. Or will there even be a third season for The Punisher?
Unfortunately, Netflix has announced the cancellation of The Punisher’s third season due to the fact that Marvel Studios will be working solely with their production house.
The Punisher is based on the Marvel Comics of the same name and directed by Steven Lightfoot. With Frank Castle as our main protagonist, we witness his journey to search for justice, for answers to his questions about what happened to his family. Did they mysteriously just die? Were they killed? Who killed them?
Plot of The Punisher Season 3
During the second season of The Punisher, we were in the underground scene with Russo, Anderson, and Eliza Schultz. On the other side, Castle and the grifter army has decided to part ways only for Castle to be offered a gun for hire. Fortunately, he denied as he wanted to stick to his principles by fighting in the war without suppressing his terms.
The last moments of the second season made us anticipate The Punisher Season 3 even more because we get to see Frank looking like “The Punisher”.

Cast of The Punisher Season 3
The main cast of The Punisher Season 2 should pretty much remain the same for the third season, if producers of the show do decide on pursuing it.
Let’s hope that we still get to see what’s in store for The Punisher’s third season. The delays have been punishment enough, right?

- Giorgia Whigham in the character of Amy Bendix
- Floriana Lima in the character of Krista Dumont,
- Josh Stewart in the character of John Pilgrim.
Although the possibility of new faces appearing in The Punisher Season 3 isn’t too far fetched, we still do not have any official announcement regarding this.
So, When Will The Punisher Season 3 Be Released?
While we are all hoping for the third installation for The Punisher, it’s best to accept the fact that we may not see the light at the end of the tunnel for this. Even with Netflix’s reputation of cancelling a show then changing their minds due to popular opinion, it was not their decision to make.
Marvel had a huge impact on this decision as they want to work with only their production house moving forward.
