Comic-Con@Home seemed to have a lot of interesting talk points during the panel discussion including The Boys’ executive producer and famous comedian Seth Rogen revealing a few things about the superhero series.
Rogen revealed in the interview that Amazon is incredibly confident in The Boys. The show was renewed for another season because the show “has fans and it is watched by people like you.”
Thanks to this confirmation, we can go back to rewatching the previous seasons of The Boys again! By the way, if you haven’t watched it and are not sure if you’ll like it, here’s a trailer:
Plot of The Boys Season 3
The Boys is a story set in the United States and it explores about everything wrong with superheroes – destroying cities, acting as if they are so much better than everyone else, and most importantly, using their powers for personal gain.
Remember that Spider-Man quote, “with great power, comes great responsibility?” Well, the superheroes in this story has completely disregarded their responsibilities. In the story, the superheroes are treated like celebrities – heavily commodified and merchandized. While they sometimes save the world, they also star in movies, get featured in billboards, and endorses things such as shoes and cereal!
In the middle of everything is Vought International, a billion-dollar corporation that has over 200 superheroes. They manage their schedules, lives, and keeps their “images” in tact.
The Boys are a group of vigilantes who hate what Vought International does.
Back in The Boys Season 2, we were left with a twist that will most likely change the series’ plot moving forward. The Boys are out of hiding and are out for blood. Well, more blood.
The Cast of The Boys Season 3
To our surprise, one of the characters that will be introduced in The Boys Season 3 is Soldier Boy who will be played by Supernatural star, Jensen Ackles.
Soldier Boy is “the original superhero” who fought in World War II and became the first “superhero celebrity” and a “mainstay in American culture.” Sounds familiar?
Check out his Instagram post of him revealing to all his 8.2 million followers about being in Amazon’s The Boys.
Here’s last season’s cast of The Boys:
- Karl Urban as Billy Butcher
- Jack Quaid as Hughie
- Erin Moriarty as Starlight
- Anthony Starr as Homelander
- Chace Crawford as The Deep
- Dominique McElligott as Queen Maeve
- Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk

So, When Will The Boys Season 3 Be Released?
Although the Amazon hit show was renewed, there is still no news of when The Boys will start airing. However, we have confirmed that The Boys’ production has been put on hold because of the pandemic.
Where Can I Watch the New Episodes of The Boys When They Air?
Because this is an Amazon Original, you can only watch the two previous seasons of The Boys through Amazon Prime. Hopefully, the execs in Amazon allow the show to branch out to other streaming platforms!
