Riverdale Season 5: ‘Insatiable’ Star Erinn Westbrook Joins Cast As Regular

The upcoming season of Riverdale will see a lot of surprises in store for its beloved viewers. From a five-year time jump to a fresh new face joining the ensemble cast, this series offers a promising season.

Speaking of a new character, Insatiable star Erinn Westbrook is the series’ newest addition to the teenage group. Reports say that she will be a resident cast for the show’s fifth installment.

Westbrook will play Tabitha Tate, the ambitious, entrepreneurial granddaughter of Pop Tate. She comes to Riverdale to take over Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe. Despite the surrounding struggles and issues around the town, she maintains a huge hope of reviving the iconic diner.

In an Instagram post, Westbrook expressed her excitement over this announcement adding that she is, “Looking forward to a fun ride! See you soon, Riverdale…”

Westbrook is currently seen in a recurring role on The Resident, a Fox-led production series. She previously portrayed Magnolia on both seasons of Netflix’ Insatiable. Westbrook also recently appeared in the New York run of Saved By The Bell The Musical. She also starred in other several series including Awkward and Glee, and Jane the Virgin.

Riverdale reportedly resumed filming on September 14 in Vancouver strictly implementing COVID-19 safety guidelines. The series shut down production in mid-March in the middle of the fourth season, which was cut short due to the pandemic.

Regulars KJ Apa, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Casey Cott and Madelaine Petsch return for the season five of Archie Comics-based drama. It is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios. Riverdale is also available for streaming online through the CW’s website and app, and on Netflix.
