Netflix Releases Official Trailer For Teen Drama Grand Army

The up-and-coming teen drama series Grand Army gets a new full trailer recently released by Netflix. Based on Katie Capello’s play ‘Slut,’ it will feature real-life scenarios of what the new generation of youth goes through. The series arrives on the streamer on October 16, Friday.

What is Grand Army all about?

Created and written by Capello, Grand Army reflects the many years of her experience interacting with her students. Set in Brooklyn, the series centers around five students of its largest public high school. It will show how they take on a chaotic world while fighting to succeed, survive, break free and seize the future. Netflix’s newest offering threads the stories of these five students together, tackling issues about romance, friendship, school violence, social justice, and more.

The trailer starts with short clips leading to Odley Jean’s character, Dominique seated in what appears to be an office. She then goes on to say, “Most people, even people who want to help, they don’t always understand what some people are up against.”

Accompanied by a melodramatic rendition of Nilsson’s “I Guess the Lord Must Be In New York City,” a series of montages following the students’ life were also revealed.

Grand Army stars Odessa A’zion, Odley Jean, Maliq Johnson, Amalia Yoo, and Amir Bageria. Streaming of the first season will be available on Netflix on October 16.
