Netflix

The first part of Lucifer season 5 is now streaming on Netflix, while its second part has yet to come. However, with showrunner Joe Henderson’s recent announcement of filming resumption for the series, delighted fans can’t help but anticipate. When is Lucifer season 5 part 2 coming out? What do we know about its cast and trailer?

Lucifer is a supernatural drama based on DC Comics, created by Tom Kapinos. It initially premiered on Fox and stayed there for three seasons. Netflix picked up the series for a fourth season after Fox canceled the show. Lucifer was supposed to end with the fifth installment but was extended for one more season.

“We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms,” said showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich of the renewal. “Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!”

Lucifer Season 5 Part 2 Release Date

As of the moment, it is unclear when part 2 will be released. Production was also affected by the recent global pandemic, and filming couldn’t resume until early September. On the other hand, series’ showrunner recently confirmed that shooting of season 2’s part 5 has been completed. This means that it won’t be that long until we see our favorite show back on screen.

“The second eight episodes, I’m not sure when they’re going to drop because we’ve still got the finale. We were about halfway through it. So we go back, we start with that, and then we go straight into season six. So hopefully that’ll be ready to go, I would imagine, sort of Christmastime or early next year,” Tom Ellis shares.

Lucifer Season 5 Part 2 Plot

Lucifer season 5 part 1 ended on an unexpected cliffhanger when God arrived to break up the brawl between Lucifer, Michael, and Amenadiel. As you can imagine, the three were surprised with their father’s appearance, especially because he’s been elusive all these years. As God finally enters the picture, viewers can expect season 5 part 2 to tackle more on their family drama.

Asked on how his father’s arrival would affect his character, Tom Ellis says, “It takes him back to a very primal place, and his feelings are very raw. I’m just so happy and so proud of what we’ve done. The first two episodes of the second half of Season 5 are my two favorite episodes of the season, without a doubt.”
