Plot of His Dark Materials Season 2
The first season focused on introducing Lyra to the world. She is an orphan who discovers a new world along with her parents Lord Asriel and Marisa Coulter, although she didn’t know that they were her biological parents at the time.
Her parents who are played by James McAvoy and Marisa Coulter are at the two ends of a war between religious forces and explorers.
With the first season based on the first installment of Philip Pullman’s trilogy, His Dark Materials Season 2 will be based on the second installment which is entitled “Northern Lights”. If the series will stick by the book’s plot, we should see Lyra continue her journey to find her father with a new companion, Will Parry.
The Cast of His Dark Materials Season 2
Let’s start off with the bad news, James McAvoy will not be in His Dark Materials Season 2 due to the pandemic. Although producers say that it will only be affecting one self-contained episode, we’re pretty sure that the show won’t be the same with one of their brightest stars benched out.
Instead of having eight episodes, only seven will grace our screens and one of them is not from the book it was derived from. However, it was written with Philip Pullman’s blessing so it should be as good as the rest of the episodes.
