Carnival Row Season 1 Recap

Philo’s discovery of Darkasher killings as well as his mysterious origins were the two major plots uncovered in season 1. It was revealed that Piety Breakspear was behind the killings, and his husband Chancellor Absalom Breakspear was Philo’s father.

As a half-fae, half-human, Philo found himself torn between two worlds and forced to hide his true nature. On the other hand, when Jonah Breakspear took his father’s place as Chancellor, he declared war against nonhumans. The mystical folks then of Carnival Row found themselves confined into a concentration camp within The Burgue.

Seeing Vignette (Philo’s love interest) on the other side of the barricade led Philo to join her and his fellow faes.
