Has Carnival Row Season 2 Been Canceled?

Speculations among the fans of popular web television series Carnival Row arise that the second installment may have been totally canceled. We check in on the latest about the show and set things straight right here for you.

Carnival Row is a neo-noir and fantasy web drama created by René Echevarria and Travis Beacham. Season 1 premiered on August 29, 2019 on Amazon Prime Video and easily became a box office hit. It garnered an excellent rating of 7.9/10 by IMDb and strives to maintain such a record come its sequel.

After successfully wrapping up the first season, fans are eager to know when the second season will be shown.

Has Carnival Row Season 2 Been Canceled?

Well, the answer is no. News about Amazon renewing the show for a second season came out as early as June 2019. In fact, this was even a month earlier before the show’s actual launch. Fans may now rest easy as we are assured that the famed dark mythical drama will return.

However, its return may take a while as production has only just finished shooting after being shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. It first began shooting in November 2019 but ceased sometime in March 2020.

On the good side, actor Orlando Bloom revealed in an interview that they only had two weeks of filming to finish season 2. Moreover, Amazon is thinking of releasing the first five episodes ahead, followed by the remaining episodes when they have finished the editing process. Not so bad of a deal, right?

Carnival Row stars Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne, Simon McBurney, Tamzin Merchant, David Gyasi, Andrew Gower, Karla Crome, Arty Froushan, Indira Varma, and Jared Harris.

So, it hasn’t been canceled but a release date for season 2 is yet to be announced. Until then, stay tuned as we update you with the latest about the show.
