Emily In Paris Release Date, Cast and Trailer

Lily Collins stars as the titular character ‘Emily’ in a new comedy drama series for Netflix. The highly-anticipated Paris-based show will surely fill in our wanderlust, but when can we expect its release? Here’s everything we know so far about Emily in Paris.

Emily in Paris comes from the creator of Sex and The City, Darren Star. He is also the person behind the original Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, and Younger. Shot mainly in the city of Paris and its suburbs, the series is expected to feature a great number of French landmarks.

Emily in Paris Release Date

The upcoming series will premiere on October 2. Paramount Network initially had the broadcast rights, but it was later announced that Netflix will take over instead. The first season will consist of ten episodes and will drop all at once on the platform. Viewers will then be able to binge watch the entire series in one go.

Emily in Paris Plot

Emily Cooper is a driven twenty-something marketing executive who moves to Paris for her dream job. However, this giant stride of relocating did not come as a breeze for her. Creator Star shares, “Emily is not fully embraced by some of the French [characters]—she’s an American girl who comes to France and doesn’t speak any French. She has opinions about how to do things, but finds out ‘the American way is the best’ doesn’t always hold true and she makes a lot of faux pas.”

While the lead character is bound to encounter a lot of embarrassing moments, Star reaffirms that “Emily learns from that experience, and it changes her idea of what success is.”

“Emily’s new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances.”

Emily in Paris Cast

Lily Collins leads the cast of the Netflix’s starter, Emily in Paris. She plays the role of Emily Cooper, an American woman from Midwest who moves to Paris to further her career. As she adjusts to a life in a foreign city, she faces a culture clash from beliefs indifferent to her.

Grey’s Anatomy and The Umbrella Academy star Kate Walsh joins the show to play Emily’s mentor. Moreover, French actors Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Camille Razat, and Bruno Gouery are set to appear too, alongside Ashley Park, William Abadie, and Arnaud Viard.

Emily in Paris Trailer

Netflix first released a teaser for the show earlier this month. However, on September 16, the official full trailer was finally revealed.

It starts by showing Emily, landing in the beautiful city of Paris. A local Parisian then asks her if she came to teach the French of her tricks and she responds with, “I’m kind of the American point of view.”

The camera then cuts to her fellow employees looking at her disapprovingly.

The trailer also teases us with a budding love triangle and short clips of Emily making a fashion statement out of her incredible wardrobe.
