When Will Blood and Treasure Season 2 Be Released?

Recently, it was announced that fans will see a second season of Blood and Water in 2020. Due to the ongoing pandemic, though, it doesn’t seem too likely that this will reign true. In a Twitter interaction with a fan, the show’s co-creator Matthew Federman updated fans about the second season’s status.

He said, “Generation is on hold till it is deemed safe to take again,” indicating that viewers may not see the second season reach Netflix in the 2020 year.

The Blood and Treasure Season 2 Cast

Season 1 of Blood and Treasure revolved around Danny McNarma, played by Matt Barr, and Sofia Pernas, played by Lexi Vaziri as the main characters. For the second installment of the show, both are set to come back. 

As for characters James Callis as Simon Hardwick or John Laroquette as Jay Reece, it is unknown if they will return to the show. But, there is a new cast member that has been announced. Paige Brewster, as seen on Criminal Minds, will play Sister Lisa in season 2.

The Plot of Blood and Treasure 

Blood and Treasure centers upon Danny McNarma (Matt Barr) as an antiquities expert and Sofia Pernas (Lexi Vaziri) as an art thief. The pair partners up to catch a terrorist, who funds his attacks solely by using stolen artifacts.

In the finale of the first season, Antony and Celopatra were found again, and Dr. Castillo discovered that Jay Reece (John Laroquette) is Karim’s father, and Jay poisoned her in order to shield his secret. In order to find out what happens next, fans will have to wait patiently for the release of the second season.
