Frozen 3: Release Date, Cast, Has It Been Confirmed?

Whether you’re a child or just a child at heart, Disney’s Frozen films are hard not to love. From its well-developed storyline to its catchy songs, both Frozen and Frozen 2 were a massive success with viewers. Raking in $1.45 billion once it hit theaters, Frozen 2 quickly became the biggest animation film of all time.

With numbers like that, there’s sure to be a Frozen 3, right? While we don’t know if Frozen 3 is a definite possibility, we do have information about the cast, a possible release date, and if this addition to the Frozen franchise is confirmed.

Frozen 3 Release Date: When Will it Premiere?

Unfortunately, Disney has not yet confirmed whether or not there will be a Frozen 3. While nothing is set in stone, another addition to the “Frozen” franchise would likely take around two to three years to be released, as there were 6 years between the first and second films.

The first Frozen film was released on November 19 in 2013, and the second film hit the theaters on November 22 in 2019, making the wait between the films quite lengthy. Even though it would take a while, it would surely be worth the wait as each film in the series hasn’t disappointed viewers yet.

According to Kristen Bell, who plays the role of Anna of Arendelle in both movies, she is fully in support of a Frozen 3, and even a Frozen 4 and a Frozen 5. In an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Bell states, “I just want Disney to hear that I’ll be showing up and I’ll be in the booth regardless, so let’s do it.” Similarly to Bell, Frozen fans from all around the world have high hopes for the continuation of this beloved film series.

Frozen 3 Cast: Who’s Coming Back?

Throughout both the first and second Frozen movies, there are consistent cast members that have helped make the movie what it is today. From Idina Menzel starring as Elsa to Josh Gad starring as Olaf, any of the Frozen films wouldn’t feel right without these essential cast members. With that being said, which cast members would come back for the potential production of Frozen 3?

As stated in her interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, it’s been confirmed that Kristen Bell is ready and willing to come back to be in Frozen 3. Similarly to Bell, Idina Menzel who gives voice to Elsa of Arendelle admitted to not being able to deal with “the finality of it yet,” in an interview with Yahoo!, which doesn’t sound like she’d turn away the chance to return.

With how much hype has developed around these adored films, we can’t blame her for wanting to come back. Since Disney hasn’t confirmed another Frozen film to be made, the cast isn’t confirmed either.

Has Frozen 3 Been Confirmed?

As much as we’d like to say yes, the making of Frozen 3 is not yet confirmed. Although cast members have spoken out in support of the film, there hasn’t been much talk of whether or not Frozen 3 will be brought to fruition.

If this addition to the Frozen franchise were to happen, it’s likely to not disappoint. In the meantime, all we can do is hope that Disney gives Frozen fans another action-packed film to love and enjoy.
