After two long years, Khalid is back with a new album, titled “Scenic Drive”. Fans have been anxiously waiting for a third album, as the singer-songwriter has been reluctant to supply any specific information on its release date.
Just a couple of months ago, Khalid took to Twitter to share his thoughts on finishing the new album, saying that he was feeling overwhelmed.
“I only wanna be the artist I want to be, because creating is what keeps me from losing my mind but my passion goes away a little more every day. I just want to finish this album and it’s really driving me crazy at this point,” Khalid said. “I’m gonna refocus, finish this album without stress, and put out something that I truthfully believe in. I’ma be me at the end of the day, that’s all I can be.”
“Scenic Drive” will feature nine tracks, with several iconic features from Alicia Keys, 6LACK, Lucky Daye, Quin, JID, Kiana Ledé, Majid Jordan, Smino and Ari Lennox. In an announcement of the project on Instagram, the star shared his excitement.
The “tape” also features a previously released single titled “Present“. The album is set to release on Dec. 3, and fans are excited, to say the least.
“Hey @thegreatkhalid I’m really excited for your new album but like pls hurry up. I already know all the words to American Teen and Free Spirit, I need new lyrics to learn,” one fan wrote, as another said, “Khalid dropping a new album featuring J.I.D Smino and Ari Lennox, this might cure my depression.”
