Is Ellen DeGeneres a New Skincare Connoisseur?

While the end may be near for Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, this isn’t the end of the line for the star’s business ventures. Along with other A-list celebrities like Rihanna, Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, and Kim Kardashian, Ellen is releasing her own beauty brand, titled Kind Science.

The star made the announcement on her talk show and shortly began to receive backlash from users on Twitter. It seems that many people find the brand’s name ironic, as Ellen recently was involved in a toxic workplace scandal that damaged her reputation, to say the least.

“The fact that it’s called Kind Science is so hilarious,” one user wrote, as another said, “When did Ellen DeGeneres all of the sudden have expertise about skincare? Nobody asked for this.”

Some speculate that the release of the skincare line serves as an apology from Ellen, as the star’s heavy use of the word “kind” might be her trying to convince the world that underneath it all, she really isn’t all bad.

Kind Science is a vegan skincare line that will launch Oct. 26, 2021. DeGeneres has described the line as “age-positive skincare that actually works” and has revealed that the line has been in the works for quite some time.

“There’s something that I’m very excited about. I have been working on this for three years and I’m excited to share it with you today,” she said on her television program, later taking the announcement to Instagram with the caption, “Kind Science isn’t about anti-aging because aging is a good thing… I want to keep laughing, just with fewer laugh lines and wrinkles”.
