Five Hip-Hop Icons to Perform at Super Bowl Halftime Show

The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show will feature a star-studded stage, as five hip-hop legends are set to take the stage. Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dog will perform on the world’s biggest stage at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.

The show will have no shortage of star power, as these five artists are sure to provide an unforgettable act in their first time performing together. According to Jay-Z, who is listed as a “strategic entertainment advisor” for the show, the concert will make history.

“On February 13, 2022, at the Super Bowl LVI in Inglewood, California, in the new SoFi Stadium, Dr. Dre, a musical visionary from Compton, Snoop Dogg, an icon from Long Beach and Kendrick Lamar, a young musical pioneer in his own right, also from Compton, will take center field for a performance of a lifetime,” the star said. “They will be joined by the lyrical genius, Eminem, and the timeless Queen, Mary J. Blige. This is the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. This is history in the making.”

The NFL made the ground-breaking announcement in a tweet sent out on Thursday.

Dr. Dre seems to be more than grateful for the opportunity, as he shared his thought in a tweet.

“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” said Dr. Dre in a statement. “I’m grateful to Jay-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”
