Emily Blunt to Host CDFA Fashion Awards

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) will finally debut its annual award show Nov. 10, after being pushed back due to COVID-19 concerns this past summer. Not only will the iconic show feature the very best of American creativity, but it will also show off a new glamorous host: Emily Blunt.

The CDFA Fashion Awards has been hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, Seth Meyers and James Corden, among others. Emily Blunt will follow in their footsteps, likely in a show-stopping outfit for the major fashion event.

According to a recent release from CFDA chairman Tom Ford, “Emily is one of the most talented actresses in the world. Her timeless style and elegance light up any room. The wonderful thing about Emily is that she is both kind and intelligent. I have great admiration for her, and I am so happy to have her as the host of this year’s CFDA awards.”

The award show will take place inside The Pool Room and Grill in New York City, featuring a star-studded attendance list with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Aurora James, Gabriela Hearst and Telfar Clemens, who are all nominated for the American Accessory Designer of the Year.

Other awards up for grabs include American Emerging Designer of the Year, American Menswear Designer of the Year, American Womenswear Designer of the Year, International Women’s Designer of the Year and International Men’s Designer of the Year.

“This is an important moment in American fashion. There is much excitement about the return of New York City and New York Fashion Week as well as the top caliber of diverse talent making their mark on the city and the global fashion landscape,” CFDA CEO Steven Kolb said in a release.
