Adele is finally making a musical comeback, which is a moment fans have been waiting for since her last release in 2016. Her long-awaited return will feature a new single titled “Easy on Me” which is set to release Oct. 15, followed by her fourth studio album.
Fans have been speculating the singer-songwriter’s return for weeks, as a series of cryptic billboards have recently popped up worldwide. The billboards displayed the number 30 in gold lettering on a dark blue background, which has led fans to believe that will be the name of her new album.
Adele’s previous albums followed a system of age-based naming, as the records are titled “19”, “21”, and “25”. The singer also changed her social media profiles to match the album’s color scheme, alluding to her eventual return.
On her 31st birthday in May 2019, Adele announced the upcoming album on her Instagram, revealing that “30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you.” More recently, the star debuted a teaser of her new single, “Easy on Me” in another Instagram post.
Fans were quick to fill the comments with their reactions to the sneak peek of the single, as one user wrote, “Me after 20 seconds: This is the best song I’ve ever heard,” and another wrote, “QUEEN OF MUSIC INDUSTRY.”
