Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Launch Gender-Neutral Children’s Clothing Line

In 2006, former child stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen launched The Row, a luxury fashion label. One year later, the two launched a contemporary lifestyle brand named after their younger siblings, Elizabeth and James.

Fast-forward to 14 years later, the Olsen twins are back with their first children’s clothing line that’s completely gender-neutral. The new luxury collection will be launched under The Row, featuring everything from lounge pants and crewneck sweaters to belted cardigans and beanie hats.

Each clothing item will be crafted from luxurious cashmere in a range of colors including gray, fuchsia, Klein blue and burnt orange. The clothing line doesn’t come cheap, though, as some items are priced as high as $790.

The gender-neutral aspect of the clothing line holds a very special place in both Mary-Kate’s and Ashley’s hearts.

“Kids are the heart of creativity,” Ashley explained. “They should be able to pick and choose what they want to wear, no matter what.”

The Row features simplistic, comfortable clothing that directly translates to its new line for children aged two to 10. According to the former child stars, this isn’t the first time they’ve designed clothing for kids.

“The items have to have a sense of practicality, ease, and comfort. We think of this for our main collections, but it’s even more important for kids. Over the past 10 years, we’ve personalized cashmere onesies and blanket sets for our clients and friends who have had kids. We wanted to explore that in a bigger way.”
