Kim Kardashian is expanding her resume by making her “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut in October. The TV personality and entrepreneur will be the second host of the show’s 47th season, following Owen Wilson for the premiere Oct. 2.
“OMFG no turning back now!!!! LOL I’m hosting SNL!!!!!!,” the star wrote on Twitter, featuring an image of her host position with musical guest Halsey.

Unsurprisingly, Kim Kardashian faced backlash from viewers, and even the “Will & Grace” star, Debra Messing. After it was announced that the Kardashian will be hosting for the first time, Messing took Twitter to provide her feedback.
Why Kim Kardashian? I mean, I know she is a cultural icon, but SNL has hosts, generally, who are performers who are there to promote a film, TV show, or album launch. Am I missing something? https://t.co/WYrobkv8Fi

Despite the criticism the star faced, Kim Kardashian seems overjoyed with the opportunity. Her hosting episode will premiere Oct. 9 exclusively on NBC. Viewers can tune in to the late-night live show at 11:30 p.m. ET.
