Taylor Swift Is Dropping Another Surprise Album Titled ‘Evermore’

Heads up, Swifties! Folklore is officially getting a follow-up. Taylor Swift surprised her fans once again as she revealed another album release at midnight on Friday, called Evermore.

Taylor has consistently delivered content for her followers this year. In July, the singer announced she was dropping Folklore, an album she wrote while on quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Surprise,” she begins her Twitter post. “Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my 8th studio album, Folklore; an entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into.”

The album was incredibly well-received, earning six nods at the Grammy Awards to be held January next year. In addition, she won the Best Album for Folklore and Favorite Music Video for her single Cardigan at the recently concluded 2020 AMAs. She also bagged the Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist and was ultimately hailed as the Artist of the Year.

In her video speech during Sunday’s awards show, the pop star said “the reason I’m not there tonight is I’m actually re-recording all of my old music in the studio where we originally recorded it. So it’s been amazing. And I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Taylor Swift surprises fans with Evermore, her 9th studio album

While fans have been eagerly awaiting for the re-records, Taylor is seemingly not stopping any sooner. In a surprise post on December 10, she announced another album is coming up.

“I’m elated to tell you that my 9th studio album, and folklore’s sister record, will be out tonight at midnight eastern. It’s called evermore,” she wrote on Twitter.

On Instagram, Taylor shared the story behind her upcoming album. She said, “Ever since I was 13, I’ve been excited about turning 31 because it’s my lucky number backwards, which is why I wanted to surprise you with this now. You’ve all been so caring, supportive and thoughtful on my birthdays and so this time I thought I would give you something!”

“I also know this holiday season will be a lonely one for most of us and if there are any of you out there who turn to music to cope with missing loved ones the way I do, this is for you,” she added.

Evermore will contain 15 tracks on the standard edition, while the deluxe physical edition will include two bonus tracks – Right where you left me and It’s time to go.

Furthermore, she also announced that the music video for Willow, her album’s title track will also drop at midnight East Coast time.
