Ashanti Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Verzuz Battle Against Keyshia Cole Postponed

With Ashanti testing positive for the novel corona virus, Verzuz has decided to postpone the much-awaited battle between Ashanti and Keyshia Cole.

“First time this has struck us so close to showtime. We apologize to our incredible audience,” read Verzuz‘s official statement. “Get well soon, Ashanti. Wear a mask, stay inside, and take Covid-19 seriously.”

The two musicians were set to showcase their musical prowess – in-person, on stage! That was until Ashanti announced that she tested positive of COVID-19 hours before her appearance on the Verzuz stage.

Ashanti took it to Instagram to express disbelief, thank everyone for the support and prayers, and to apologize for the postponement.

“I’m ok and not in any pain. I’m actually down to do the verzuz from my house…we’re trying to figure it all out!!!,” the Grammy-winning singer wrote on Instagram.

The performance is moved to January 9, 2021. But while waiting to see the two amazing hitmakers take the Verzuz stage, we can pass the time by watching previous battles on Instagram.

The latest Verzuz installment has Gucci Mane and Jeezy showing off their amazing rhyme and flow skills.

Last September, we saw Gladys Knight adn Patti LaBelle swoon and belt their hearts out with hits like “Midnight Train to Georgia.”

Verzuz is a must-have on every music lover’s list of things to watch. They have live concerts and in-person performances. Those that came to a halt because of the ongoing pandemic.
