Netflix has decided not to renew “Away” for a second season. Of course, in true showbiz fashion, Hilary Swank took it to social media to thank everyone.
Just in case you did not know, Swank is not only the main character of the show but also its executive producer.
“Love and hope will always remain my “North Star”,” she wrote. “It was an incredible journey my compadres.”
Away is a space drama series created by Andrew Hinderaker. Hilary Swank played the role of Emma Green, an American astronaut and commander of the first crewed mission to Mars.
In the first season, we saw Swank’s character journey and safely land on Mars which explains why she referenced the set up for Away Season 2 in her note to fans.
“And thank YOU to all my extraordinary followers who watched and supported our beautiful show. Wish we were showing you Mars! Until the next one,” she wrote.
