Outlander’s Sam Heughan Stars In A New Movie With Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Celine Dion

Outlander star Sam Heughan lands a role in a new romantic film alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Celine Dion. Tentatively titled as “Text For You,” the story is inspired by the 2016 German-language box office hit SMS Fur Dich.

The film follows a woman who is still emotionally hung up after tragically losing her fiancé. As a way to cope with the situation, she sends texts to his old phone to ease her pain. She then discovers that her fiancé’s old phone number has been reassigned to a man who lives across town. More oddly, the man happens to be grieving a similar loss. However, while the pair may have an undeniable spark between them, they can’t seem to leave their pasts behind.

Grace Is Gone’s Jim Strouse will direct the movie, while Lauryn Kahn will write the script.

In the English language remake, Celine Dion gives them inspiration through her iconic music. The musical influence is set to encourage the two leads to take a chance on love again.

Dion is one of the best-selling artists of all time with record sales of over 200 million worldwide. Her hit singles include The Power of Love, It’s All Coming Back To Me Now, Beauty and the Beast, and My Heart Will Go On. The latter two earned her Oscars for the Best Original Song of the Year.

Outlander Season 6 gets a confirmation from show creators

Ahead of Outlander season 4’s premiere, Starz announced the show’s renewal for two more seasons (5 and 6).

Hueghan must be pretty busy right now, as his historical drama takes on further seasons on top of his other projects. In an interview, he previously opened up about his surprise over Outlander’s longevity on screen.

“It’s been such a whirlwind, you know. I probably thought, ‘A couple of years’, and now here we are five seasons in, six years of shooting,” he happily confessed.

“The show just keeps getting bigger and reaching more countries as well – it’s seen in 82 different countries.”

Outlander airs on Starz in the US. The show also streams online through Amazon Prime Video.
