Dr. Stone Season 1 quickly became a success and was one of the best anime series of 2019, according to viewers and critics worldwide. The first season wrapped up earlier this year and if you have watched enough anime series, you would know that it usually takes over a year for even a renewal to be announced.
Plot of Dr. Stone Season 2
The second season of Dr. Stone is entitled “Stone Wars” in direct relation with the growing tension between Senku’s Kingdom of Science and Tsukasa’s Empire.
To increase the tension between Senku and Tsukasa, they will be given separate plotlines. Senku Ishigami is driven to restore the community after all of it being turned into stone due to a mysterious attack almost 4,000 years ago. As he was reviving his community, he manages to revive a friend who will be helping him in a science experiments. During that process, he also accidentally revives a potential antagonist.
A re-introduction of a few characters such as Taiju and Yuzuriha is also expected, both have faded in the latter parts of Dr. Stone Season 1. According to the manga, romantic relationships will be formed. The upcoming season is set to get even more thrilling, exciting, and definitely have more science.

According to the trailer, most of the Season 1 cast will be appearing in Dr. Stone Season 2.

So, When Will Dr. Stone Season 2 Be Released?
The anime series, Dr. Stone, has been renewed for a second season 2 which means an announcement was bound to be released soon. A few weeks ago, Crunchyroll revealed that Dr. Stone Season 2 will start airing on January 2021.
Given the whole pandemic situation, a bit of leniency should be given if ever creators encounter delays in production.
