While there is a lot of anime to watch, having Haikyuu!! on the watch list is a wise choice. Its story revolves around a teenager who suddenly develops a love for volleyball after watching an intense championship match. Although the series did not become a hit until the live-action adaptation aired, the Haikyuu!! Fandom surely knows how to make up for the lost time. Early this year, episodes of its fourth season have started airing but because of the pandemic, the later episodes are yet to be released.
Plot of Haikyuu!! Season 4
Shoyo Hinata, the lead protagonist, is your typical teenager is on the shorter end of the growth chart. Given that he is a teenager, not having a particular interest is pretty normal until he watches a national championship game of volleyball on television. The team’s star player who happens to be nicknamed “the small giant” inspired him to join his school’s team. He soon later finds out that their school’s volleyball team is nonexistent with him as the only member!
The whole Karasuno High Volleyball team holds each other’s hands in celebration of their wins and support of each other when they don’t. As time passes, they take the audience as their characters mature and achieve their milestones – similar to how one sees friends.
Season four opened as the Karasuno High Volleyball team is just preparing for the Spring Tournament but a conflict was already introduced in the first episode when Kageyama and Tsukishima received an invitation to exclusive training camps. Shoyo Hinata, being afraid of losing team members, snuck into the camp and had to pose as a ball boy. He doesn’t get much time to adjust and is instantly facing harsh criticisms. Being in the training camp has brought him realizations and gave him a strategy that may help them in their future matches.
