It was announced last week that esteemed and horribly annoying filmmaker Quentin Tarantino had pitched a Star Trek: The Next Generation idea to JJ Abrams, who apparently took it and ran with it…all the way to Paramount. Paramount, according to IndieWire, has agreed to greenlight the Tarantino/Abrams R-rated Star Trek: The Next Generation film. Apparently, even Sir Patrick Stewart is considering returning to the role of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, but only if Tarantino is directing.
Live long and prosper, motherfu**ers?
What do you think of a Tarantino/Abrams R-rated Star Trek film? Can the man who gave us bloody, foul-mouthed revenge narratives deliver on a beloved sci-fi mega franchise?
